The general hypothesis was: there is a significant relationship between parental relationship and academic performance in elementary school students in a public school in Lima, Peru. The research was carried out in response to a latent problem in Peruvian public schools in relation to the academic performance of students, which is conditioned by the parental relationship, which has a direct impact on school success. For this purpose, a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational methodology was used. To obtain the information, the survey technique was used. The questionnaire and the record of grades for the period 2023 were used as instruments, which were processed by means of descriptive and inferential statistics; Spearman's Rho was applied for the latter to test the relationship between the variables. The descriptive results reported that 43% of the participants perceive that the parental relationship is good; while 83% obtained a level in process, this in terms of academic performance in terms of learning achievement. In the inferential results, a relationship was found between the variables Rho: ,548; p= ,002; likewise, significance was found in the specific hypothesis tests. It was concluded that there is a significant correlation between parental relationship and academic performance in elementary school students in a public school in Lima, Peru. Therefore, when the ties between the family and its offspring are in the best conditions, the students feel supported and confident to obtain a good academic performance.

El objetivo de la investigación fue establecer la correspondencia entre la relación parental y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes de primaria de una escuela pública en Lima, Perú. La hipótesis general fue: existe relación significativa entre relación parental y rendimiento académico en estudiantes de primaria de una escuela pública en Lima, Perú. La investigación se llevó a cabo en función de una problemática latente en las escuelas públicas de Perú en vínculo con el rendimiento académico del estudiantado, la cual presenta como condicionante la relación parental, lo cual implica una repercusión directa en el éxito escolar. Para tal efecto, se empleó una metodología de enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental – transversal y de alcance correlacional. Para obtener la información, se empleó como técnica a la encuesta. Se usó como instrumentos el cuestionario y el registro de notas del período 2023, los cuales fueron procesados por medio de la estadística descriptiva e inferencial, se aplicó para este último Rho de Spearman para comprobar la relación entre las variables. Los resultados descriptivos informaron que el 43 % de las personas participantes percibe que la relación parental es buena; mientras que el 83 % obtuvo un nivel en proceso, esto en cuanto al rendimiento académico en términos de logro de aprendizaje. En los resultados inferenciales se encontró relación entre las variables de Rho: ,548; p= ,002; asimismo, se halló significancia en las pruebas de hipótesis específicas. Se concluyó que existe correlación significativa entre la relación parental y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes de primaria en una escuela pública de Lima, Perú. Por tanto, cuando los vínculos entre la familia y su descendencia se encuentran en las mejores condiciones, el estudiantado se siente apoyado y confiado para obtener un buen rendimiento académico. A presente investigação foi realizada a partir de um problema latente nas escolas públicas do Peru em relação ao desempenho acadêmico dos alunos, tendo como condição o relacionamento parental. Nesse sentido, o problema que os alunos apresentavam em uma escola pública de Lima era o seu desempenho acadêmico dadas as condições de relacionamento com os pais, o que impacta diretamente no sucesso escolar. Para tanto, utilizou-se uma metodologia de abordagem quantitativa, não experimental, transversal e correlacional. Para obter as informações, utilizou-se como técnica a pesquisa e como instrumentos o questionário e o registro de notas do período de 2023.
